Four little carolers and their dog have gathered around a brightly lit Christmas tree for an evening of Christmas music.
Painting this group made me think about the friends who become family, and how much I have always loved the lyric, “families created by friendship as well as by birth” from A Christmas Carol: The Musical.
The complete scene includes two girls, two boys, their small dog, a 10-inch ceramic Christmas tree, and a round cobblestone display base. An electric light illuminates the multicolored bulbs on the tree.
Each piece is hand-painted. The figurines are removable, so they can be rearranged on the base or displayed separately. The base can be repurposed throughout the year to light other objects.
